I've been trying to read The Dante Club by Matthew Pearl for the past few months, opening it in 15 minute breaks between classes on the rare days I didn't have studying to in those short periods. One of the final event in the novel is the rescue of the Dante Club. Each man risks his life for the others, and when Longfellow's life was in jeopardy, all effort was made to save him. A club of Dante enthusiasts meet to discuss the poem, revering its author. The Dante Club by Matthew Pearl is a well paced, organized, well written mystery. If you already know something about Dante's Inferno, you may like this novel. Thursday June 11th at 8pm the Dante Club opens it's doors to over 20 acts of various styles and talent level. I was consistently uncertain what would happen next, I was fascinated by the murder, and I enjoyed the discovery of the truth. Here is an opportunity to see and support local talent.
